When Stopping Isn’t an Option

Hi friend— I know I'm a bit late in getting the July newsletter out, and to be completely honest, it's been difficult to keep up! We are in the midst of so much change here at TeaScape. We are bringing on our first Acupuncturist, hiring new LMTs, planning updates for our treatment rooms, and getting ready to send Miho off on maternity leave! Not to mention I have recently brought home a tiny bundle of puppy joy. It's a lot! It's definitely one of those times when slowing down doesn't seem like a viable option.

Here are some things I like to squeeze in when I'm feeling like stopping isn't an option.

Tea

While an hour of tea ceremony might not be an option for me lately, a cup of a beloved herbal ally will do the trick to calm my nervous system. Some of my favorites are Calendula flower, Scullcap, Tulsi, Stinging Nettle, Licorice root, and Lemon Verbena.

Earthing

Getting my bare feet on our sweet Mother Earth is an accessible and free way to ground. Any patch of grass or mud will do. Maybe smell the flowers while I'm out there.

Singing & Dancing

Extending my exhale by singing along to a few favorite songs jump-starts the parasympathetic nervous system. Dancing while doing it helps move stagnant energy/emotions, getting me out of my head, and right back into my body. All it takes is a song or two, but feel free to keep going!

P.S. There is no wrong way to dance. Do what feels good. You're human. You were meant to dance and sing freely.

As always, thank you for your support. We wouldn't be here without you. Until next time…
